𝐍𝐅𝐀 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐗 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 

June 2, 2025 / ZAMBOANGA CITY — In an effort to promote transparency and stakeholder participation, the National Food Authority (NFA) Region IX successfully conducted the Public Consultation on the Proposed Implementing Guidelines for the Conduct of Auction for Aging NFA Buffer Stocks across the region. The event was held both face-to-face and via virtual platform.

Regional Manager Lolita O. Sanedrin welcomed the participants and gave an overview of the Public Consultation. It was then followed by a detailed presentation of the proposed guidelines by Assistant Regional Manager Jordan L. Valente.

After the presentation, the floor was opened for questions, suggestions, and feedback from the Stakeholders which composed of representatives from the government sector, Farmers’ Cooperatives Associations, and Private Individuals. OIC-BM Joann B. Bernardo of ZCBO and OIC-BM Rogelio Antonio B. Lumo together with their staff were also present during the activity.

The said consultation sought to gather insights, comments, and recommendations from stakeholders regarding the proposed guidelines on the auction. The auction initiative is in accordance with Republic Act 12078 which aims to enhance transparency in the disposition of aging buffer stocks, expand market reach, secure better prices, and minimize storage costs and potential losses—while upholding the agency’s commitment to national food security.
