NFA Region VII strengthens ties with DSWD for emergency rice support
As part of its commitment to reinforce disaster preparedness and promote inter-agency collaboration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) led by Special Assistant to the Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group and OIC of the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau, Leo L. Quintilla paid a courtesy visit to NFA Region VII Acting Regional Manager II Ovelito C. Baritua.
The meeting served as a platform to revisit existing partnerships and explore new strategies to enhance logistical coordination and rice supply support for the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) and its prepositioned Family Food Packs (FFPs). Discussions also focused on DSWD’s plans for rice procurement to sustain its relief operations and ensure an uninterrupted flow of essential goods during emergency responses.
SA Quintilla expressed appreciation for NFA’s consistent support, emphasizing its critical role in ensuring food availability during disasters. The NFA and DSWD continue to uphold a long-standing partnership in advancing disaster response and social welfare efforts.
This engagement reflects both agencies’ shared vision of a resilient and food-secure Visayas region—fueled by strategic collaboration and a unified commitment to public service.
