RICE PROCESSING SYSTEM IN UPI, MAGUINDANAO, A BIG HELP TO FARMERS

Through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program, the government continues to support the advancement of agricultural technology to help our farmers remain competitive in the global rice market.

The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) made a significant stride toward agricultural modernization by inaugurating and turning over a multi-million-peso Rice Processing System (RPS 1) to the Purok Maunlarin Agriculture Cooperative in Nangi, Upi, Maguindanao del Norte on June 26, 2025.

The Cooperative received a Php18.6M state-of-the-art Rice Processing System (RPS) consisting of a one-unit multi-stage rice mill and two mechanical dryers.

The inauguration of this rice processing system marks a significant shift in the local farming community, leading to increased efficiency, improved quality, and enhanced sustainability of production. The RCEF Mechanization Program’s relentless pursuit of farm modernization is poised to redefine the future of rice processing and significantly contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector.
